Whyte vs Allen.

‘The Body Snatcher’ points victory over David Allen at the First Direct Arena in Leeds

  • Scorecards : 100-91, 100-90, 99-91.

The boxer from Brixton dominated ‘White Rhino’ Allen with a unanimous points win on the  Luke Campbell vs Argenis Mendez undercard.

Dillian Whyte on the fight :

“Everyone thought I was coming for a war but I showed people I can box.

“I outskilled and outclassed him to show that I’m not just a warrior and that I can use my boxing skills.”

Dave Allen on the fight :

“There was never any disrespect between me and the big man.

“I’m in this sport to fight the best and I regard him as one of the best not just in Britain but the world.

“Two things let me down tonight: inexperience and losing to the better man.”

Whyte was the busier boxer from the start and covered the ring well. Working behind the jab, he regularly moved in to land a flurry of punches on his Doncaster opponent.

Allen, 24, was happy to stand in flat-footed in front of the Londoner and take any oncoming punishment in the hope of landing his own counters, but apart from a big overhand right, nothing noticeable landed.

“outskilled”

Along with his first major belt (WBC International Heavyweight Title), Dillian got to show his boxing skills and ten good learning rounds now under his belt.

Bigger fights on the horizon from now on….

Other undercard results on the night :

  • Tyrone Nurse beat Tommy Coyle.
  • Gamal Yafai beat Josh Wale.
  • Ryan Burnett beat Cesar Ramirez.
